Four-Element Pyrodetectors

Pyrodetectors having four sensing elements may be configured in various geometrical forms. The most prominent design today is referenced as “Quad”, which is two pairs of elements in a square form layout. With the spacing and polarity of the elements, different variations are available. Most of the applications for such detectors are ceiling-mount sensing devices.

Excelitas provides Quad designs in single- and dual-channel outputs, with analog outputs or with the enhanced function and streamlined integration of our DigiPyro product line with digital output. Latest versions of Quad Pyros include the enhanced functionality as known of the Dual-Element, Low-Power DigiPyro, so offering a Dual-Channel Quad DigiPyro with sleep mode, sensitivity adjust, bandwidth selection, and window time.

PYQ 1398, PYQ 1348

PYQ 1398, PYQ 1348 Single-Output Quad Pyros

Excelitas' PYQ 1348 and PYQ 1398 Pyrodetectors provide four sensing elements in a geometric square placement. Electrically all elements are connected in series, forming one analog output signal. The two versions vary from each other by different window size and element spacings.
Part Number
PYQ 1548

PYQ 1548 Quad-Element Low-Power DigiPyro

With a mere 1.8 V power requirement, Excelitas offers the first real low-power enhanced DigiPyro® Series. The PYD 1548 is a fully integrated, Quad-Element Detector. That DigiPyro offers added features and low-current power consumption for extended remote motion detection in battery operated devices.
Part Number
PYQ 1748

PYQ 1748 Quad-Element DigiPyro

This Quad-Element Pyrodetector features four elements in series connection in TO-5 Metal Housing. This Pyrodetector Series is part of the DigiPyro® family that feature internal integrated circuitry to convert the element signals into a 14-bit digital output.
Part Number
PYQ 2498

PYQ 2498 Dual-Output Quad Pyro

The Excelitas PYQ 2498 Pyrodetector provides two pairs of two elements in a geometric square placement. Two elements per pair are electrically connected in series. Each pair represents an individual analog output signal. The TO-5 housing includes an optical window in rectangular shape.
Part Number
PYQ 5848, PYQ 2898

PYQ 5848, PYQ 2898 Dual Output Quad-Element DigiPyros

The PYQ 5848 and PYQ 2898 are 4-element dual channel digital sensors in a TO-5 metal housing. The PYQ 5848 has diagonally arranged element pairs for ceiling applications while the PYQ 2898 has parallelly arranged element pairs for wall mounted applications. These Pyrodetectors are part of the DigiPyro® family that feature internal integrated circuitry to convert the element signals into a 14-bit digital output.
