LINOS® LM0202 Laser Modulator Series offers electro-optical modulators designed for superior performance and efficiency. Similar to the LM13 Series, the LM0202 modulates power, phase, or polarization state outside the laser cavity but with an added feature of a four-crystal configuration that significantly reduces switching voltage while maintaining excellent birefringence compensation. This solution is ideal for demanding optical systems requiring low-voltage operation without compromising modulation stability or fidelity.
The LM0202 Series includes several models, such as a universal version, an intensity modulator (P) with thin-film polarizers, and a phase modulator (PHAS). This series features four crystals arranged in order of compensation, which reduces the half-wave voltage by 50% compared to the LM13 series. Additonally, the series offers high extinction ratios—exceeding 250:1 for visible and infrared versions, and over 100:1 for UV versions—measured using a continuous-wave laser between crossed polarizers.
