Polarizing Beamsplitter (PBS) Cubes
Our LINOS® Polarizing Beamsplitter (PBS) Cubes are designed to deliver precise separation of transmitted and reflected polarization states for demanding optical applications. Cemented construction ensures robust performance, while advanced TSWP coatings enable operation across key wavelength ranges, providing high transmission for p-polarized light and strong suppression of s-polarization. The cubes achieve excellent extinction ratios for both transmitted and reflected beams, ensuring high polarization purity in measurement, imaging, and beam-conditioning systems.
All entrance and exit surfaces have broadband ARB2 anti-reflection coatings, while black-painted end surfaces reduce scattered light to maintain beam quality and system accuracy. With precise angular beam deflection and consistently high optical performance, Excelitas PBS Cubes offer a reliable, high-precision solution for efficient polarization control across multiple spectral regions.

Cemented polarizing beam splitter (PBS) cube for highly efficient separation of transmitted and reflected polarization states
Optimized for spectral bands 450–550 nm, 550–700 nm, and 720–900 nm (TSWP coating) for versatile use across visible to near-IR ranges
Very high polarization extinction (specified for a single laser wavelength): transmission Tp/Ts > 1000:1 and reflection Rs/Rp > 100:1 for strong polarization contrast
High p-polarization throughput (Tp ≥ 90%, typical ≥ 95%) ensures efficient signal transmission
Strong suppression of unwanted s-polarization (Ts ≤ 0.5%) for clean beam separation
Broadband anti-reflection coatings on all input and output faces minimize reflection losses at the glass surfaces, increasing transmission efficiency and reducing stray light
Blackened end faces reduce stray light and improve measurement contrast
Tight angular beam deviation tolerance (8′) ensures precise beam alignment in optical setups
High laser damage resistance: >2 kW/cm² (CW at 488/514 nm), >200 mJ/cm² (10 ns pulses at 1064 nm), and >28 mJ/cm² (280 fs pulses at 850 nm, 20 Hz) for demanding laser applications
