Excelitas Technologies to Showcase Sensor and Detector Innovations at Electronica 2022 to Create a Smart World

MEDIA ADVISORY

WHO: Excelitas Technologies® Corp., a leading industrial technology manufacturer focused on delivering innovative, market-driven photonic solutions, will display its latest sensor and detector offerings for use in electronics applications at Electronica 2022.

WHAT: Expert staff will be available at Excelitas Booth 303, Hall B3 to discuss the company’s featured sensing and detection solutions for smart homes, smart cities and smart factories, as well as quantum technology including:

  • VTH21 Series of Photodiodes for Radon Detection: Offered in chip form for optimal alpha particle detection, Excelitas’ low-capacitance VTH21 Series of silicon photodiodes provides high responsivity to radiation of interest, making the new photodiodes an ideal solution for radon gas detection and alpha particle detection. Featuring a robust chip design in either a waffle pack or Mylar (preferred), these photodiodes are available in two different standard chip geometries including 5x5 mm (VTH2110) and 10x10 mm (VTH2120) large active area for maximum detection of low-level radiation with a spectral response between 400 nm – 1100 nm.
  • Medical-Grade CaliPile® TPiS 1T1386 L5.5H IR Temperature Sensor: The new IR sensor consists of an isothermal TO-39 package with high-sensitivity TP-chip, confined optics and an additional “lens-hood” for stray-light suppression, enabling thermal stabilization in harsh conditions. Its on-board EEPROM also delivers highly precise factory calibration data storage and minimizes the need for re-calibration in the application for ease-of-use. Featuring high temperature accuracy, combined with configurable “threshold” functions and low power consumption during operation, TPiS 1T1386 L5.5H offers an ideal solution for remote skin-temperature measurement applications and temperature control of liquids and gases in medical applications. In addition, it offers fast remote over-temperature protection, mid-field human presence sensing, far-field human motion detection and passive light-barrier sensing for people counting.
  • Smart Home BluePyro Module Demonstration: This demonstration brings together the power of Excelitas’ small form factor SMD DigiPyro for motion detection along with the integration flexibility of Bluetooth connectivity. The advanced sensor module features an Excelitas PYD 2592 Dual-Element Low-Power SMD DigiPyro integrated into a reference design with a Bluetooth interface to enable shorter time to market for a variety of low-power, low-cost IoT applications in smart home and consumer electronics sectors.
